Straight from the emerging Berlin raw house scene comes an exquisite imprint whose sole focus is put on quality, friendship and the sickest underground deep vibes around. Founded last year by a handful of friends sharing the same taste, views and goals in modern dance music, Käse Kool prides itself as one of the freshest labels around promoting some of the most creative producers from Berlin and beyond. In under 1 year of activity, the imprint has already amassed four strong releases and boasts an impressive artist repertoire of both new and seasoned names like Rosenhaft, Andrey & Paul Hosey, 47 Sounds, David Moran and Jacob B to name a few. For their 5th release, Käse Kool gathered together 5 of Berlin's most active producers for a rock solid 4-track EP that definitely needs to find its way into you bag!
Opening up the 'Friends n' No Ends' EP is Crude Wax owner Vincenzo Maurice setting the mood with his 'Appearance' track. The kick is tight, the percussions are snappy, the bass line is groovy and the chords are warm and smooth, resulting in a proper crowd warming tune. Up next, vinyl enthusiast Nick Beringer presents us the colourful 'Wismut': a fusion of driving kick-drums, swung percussions, punchy bass-line, warped synth stabs and deep lazy pads. Flip the side and encounter the 'Visions' of MODE7, a newly formed duo project that proves once again that two is better than one. Their debut track features a chunky bass synth that complements the dreamy skyscape lead in perfect harmony while an airy male vocals gives the whole arrangement a charming human touch. Last, but not least, Genji's Vision owner and Crude Wax debuter, Aurhythm supplies a hefty dose of rude old-skool-flavoured house beats. 'System Is Wack' is a rough-around-the-edges composition of looped analogue drums, a succulent bass work, playful rhodes stabs and quirky keys where on-point vocals and faded brassy samples add a touch of character.
