After countless top hits, best sellers and chart wreckers on Full Pupp, Permanent Vacation or Running Back, Todd Terje decided it was time to take matters into his own hands and start his own imprint. 2013 was a very active year for Olsen Records, amassing 3 outstanding gems that quickly filled up every dj's charts and record bags, the label took little time to establish itself in all our hearts.
This week welcomes Olsen's fourth release, a mesmerizing synthesizer infused trip, a somewhat back-to-the-roots approach from the disco edit master. Side A features 'Spiral', a stunning balearic synth builder that quickly evolves into a pure 80's nostalgia theme song with subtle vox pads shimmering into the sunset. Side B has the simply titled 'Q', which borrows the beautiful simplicity from 'Ragysh' and delivers an incredible euphoria infused chord progression which rises and falls from deep to oblivion, from sadness to bliss, from here to sublime.
Take into account the quirky cover and fitting sleeve designed by Terje's almost-personal illustrator Bendik Kaltenborn and you've got yourself a record to impress your friends and audience with!
