Detroit Swindle's uber fresh imprint Heist Recordings is on a roll this year, already putting out their 3rd release of 2015 for a total of 10 EPs in less than 2 years of activity. After each of Outplay's founding members recently solo releases, namely Junktion's highly limited edition 'The Great Unknown' and Daniel Leseman's 'On The Fritz', the groovalicious dutch duo is back together with their second ever Fouk release.
Fusing together Hans' developed skill for sampling and knack for jazzy chords and brassy instruments with Daniel's signature swinging drum patterns and loose arrangements, Kill Frenzy is, quite arguably, the duo's finest piece of buttery smooth house music to date. Starting with the wobbling bass line, glistening synths and sparkling percussions of 'Kill Frenzy', continuing with the smoky jazz vibe, warm vintage synth keys and lazy horns of 'Lefty's Bar' and finishing with the wistful piano notes, wobbly chords, charming rhodes pads and trademark vocal sampling of 'Ken Sent Me', Fouk's 'Kill Frenzy EP' hits deep at your soul and smooth at your feet.
Out since yesterday on both vinyl and digital, but who cares about bits and bytes anyway, wax all the way!
