The brainchild of Massimo Previti (Pat Callaghan), Dabit Records was founded last spring in Milan, Italy. Together with Nick Morris (Nello Nicita), Dave Scott (David La Maestra), Gilberto Di Gioia, Giuseppe Acunzo (Joe Addicted) and CaMi he set a very bold goal: to constantly search for elegant and alternative sounds that send a spiritual message to the listener and to release those sounds on beautifully crafted pieces of black gold. Their mission lead them to the release of fresh and unique music from artists like Kick Douglas, Alex Agore, Jack Fell Down and Accatone and their next release has just been announced. The seventh Dabit pressing and the first of 2014 brings Munich house duo COEO into the spotlight with 'Do It', an amazing release comprised of two original tracks and two matching remixes from Steve Huerta and Vorres.
It all starts hard and stays hard with the rightfully titled club smasher 'Do It', a classic jacking house beat driven to sweatdom by metallic synth stabs and kept on running with a pair of tightly chopped vocal samples. Steve Huerta gets on the remixing job and turns the tides completely with a mild and dubby, deep and hypnotic twist of the original track. Side B changes the game with 'Will I', a warm and deep love affair featuring beautifully crafted vocals, a low wide bassline, raw piano chords and a floating pad to keep you mesmerised throughout the whole track. Ending the release is the second take on the title track, a rework from London based producer Vorres bettter known to most of you as the head of Sccucci Manucci. Removing the hardness, but retaining the key elements of the track and bringing down the tempo, Vorres manages to craft a string infused set ender aided by a syncopated drum pattern and a big bass all held together by a subtle tremolo pipe organ.
'Do It' is set for release at the end of January and pre-orders are already available here.
