In world of edits dominated by disco, funk and soul cuts, it's a rare opportunity to see a proper old school house edit release surface from the crowd. Clubmate is the artist name, the title of the release and the name of the label so we're dealing with a bad ass producer who wants to keep his name unknown for not, mainly for the sake of the copyright repercussions that might ensue. Which is a good thing, because the less you focus on names, the more you focus on the music.
And this is exactly what sets this record apart from the other fish in the ocean of edits that's teeming with life since nu disco hit the shores. The opening track on Side A 'Edit De Ghetto', takes David Morales & Bad Yard Clubs' jamaican discotech burner 'InDe Ghetto' and turns into a deep tribal vocal infused crowd warmer greatly slowed down for modern club enjoyment.
Side B features 2 different cuts of Liz Torres' military paced NYC house stomper 'Can't Get Enough' that bring out the best of this classic house tune and kicks it up a notch providing hours of enjoyment for worldwide club aficionados. And if you have been living under a rock, go check out Liz Torres' come back release from this spring on the newly founded Luxor Records.
